the comforts of madness: "röhren" helge hinteregger saxes, samples stefan aschbock samples martin siewert guit, electronics uchihashi kazuhisa guit, electronics röhren ist 1. die klangliche erforschung eines mikrokosmos: viel stille und kurze eruptionen als enklaven des aktivismus. zerfaserung und zersplitterung postulierter spielprozesse. linien werden nur als unterbrochene kenntlich gemacht, rhythmen nur als gerausch, und aggressionen nur als gegen sich selbst gerichtete. das ziel 2. segmente komplexer musikalischer einheiten werden neu kodiert und kombiniert. daraus ergiebt sich die moglichkeit in ihrem kern noch erkennbare musikalische inhalte zu einer neuen form umzugestalten. ein irrgarten der assoziationen. |

text 2: whats up, they asked me. my answer was recognized as an incoherent line
up of gutural articulations. the reaction of the crowd encouraged me to stick
to my decision, although similar events in the past didn´t get unlimited
attention. this irresistible urge to go one step further pushed me to forget
about the possibility to reproduce well known structures. "why?" they asked:.
because of "the comforts of madness"
text 3: the urge to explore the limits of instruments are on one hand a central
part of the music of "the comforts of madness". on the other hand the urge to
cut up concrete musical structures into independent pieces, to built up new
concr(ete)abstract sound-sculptures.
