fragment opera is a project by marina rosenfeld mixing music performed from original vinyl and acetate records, and video and photographs having to do with a series of landscapes. the forest, the garden, and the sea are the names of individual or series of discs associated with each landscape in the project to date. in performance, they are played simultaneously and in various sequences, modified with pins or nails in the surface to produce temporary loops, and gradually altered by the introduction of effects, either by an ensemble of turntable operators or in a multi-turntable solo version performed by mr.
